We help Indian CAs turn raw bank statements into audit-ready work.
Greenote is a small, founder-led team building software for chartered accountants and the people who work alongside them. Our whole job is to take the messy, date-wise bank statement a client hands over and turn it into something a CA can actually audit from, without the manual copy-paste that eats a filing season.

Founder-led, privacy-first
Why we built it
Every practising CA knows the drill. A client sends a bank statement, and before any real work can start, someone has to read hundreds of cryptic narrations, figure out who each payment went to, group them, and tag every line to an accounting head. It is slow, it is repetitive, and it is easy to get wrong when it is done by hand at 11pm during filing season.
We thought that first mile should be handled by software so the CA can spend their time on judgement, not data entry. So we built an engine that reads the statement the way an experienced accountant would, names the counterparties, categorises the transactions, and hands back a clean workbook. Greenote is built by a small team that cares about getting this one thing right, rather than a suite of features nobody asked for.
What we care about
Privacy is not a setting
Your uploaded statement is processed in memory and deleted immediately. We never store the statement file, in a database, in object storage or in logs. Client data stays your client's data.
Audit-ready, ITR-ready output
The goal is not a prettier statement. It is a workbook a CA can open at finalisation: a party-wise ledger, categorised transactions, and an ITR summary you can actually file from.
How the engine works, honestly
A bank statement arrives date-wise. The engine reads each narration, pulls out the counterparty, and rolls every payment to and from the same party into a single line, so you get a party-wise ledger instead of a scattered list. Alongside that, each transaction is tagged with an accounting head, from salary and rent to bank charges, UPI, POS and cash movements.
The part we take seriously: when the engine is not confident about a narration, it does not guess. It marks that entry as Suspense or Unknown and leaves it for you to review. A tool that quietly guesses is worse than no tool, because the mistake is hidden. We would rather be honest about what we are unsure of and let the CA make the call before anything is filed.
