Bank of Baroda statement analyser: Excel in, ITR-ready report out
Bank of Baroda statements carry the fingerprints of three banks: since the Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank merger, narration styles and even column layouts can differ between accounts that all say BoB at the top. One statement may delimit with slashes, the next with hyphens, and a third with both in the same narration. Greenote Lite doesn't assume one style — it reads each row on its own terms.
How to export your Bank of Baroda statement as Excel or CSV
- 1Log in to bob World Internet (or the bob World app) and open the account statement section.
- 2Pick the account and set the from/to dates for the audit period.
- 3Choose the Excel or CSV download — typically listed with the PDF option; take the spreadsheet.
- 4Upload the file unchanged; mixed narration styles inside one file are expected and handled.
Menu names shift between netbanking versions, so treat the steps above as a guide — the constant is the format: take the Excel, XLS or CSV download, not the PDF. Greenote Lite does not read PDF statements; the full Greenote desktop app (coming soon) will.
What Greenote Lite does with a BoB statement
The engine treats BoB as a multi-dialect bank, which in practice means:
- Mixed delimiters are normal here: UPI rows with slash-separated segments can sit next to NEFT rows delimited by hyphens. Party extraction works per row instead of applying one splitting rule to the whole file.
- Reference-first narrations — where a long numeric reference precedes the party name — are common on BoB; the engine skips the number and anchors on the name.
- Accounts originating from ex-Vijaya and ex-Dena branches may export legacy-looking layouts; the table detector maps their columns automatically.
- Charge and interest rows with terse descriptions are mapped to Bank Charges and Interest heads so they don't pollute the party ledger.
The download is a four-sheet Excel workbook: a party ledger of who paid whom, every transaction categorised and named, a category summary, and an ITR summary with AIS/SFT flags. See why the party ledger comes first or the full statement-to-ITR workflow.
BoB statement questions
No — it is typical for Bank of Baroda after the merger, and the parser reads each narration on its own structure. The party ledger and categories come out the same either way.
Post-merger accounts (ex-Vijaya, ex-Dena) and different portal versions can produce slightly different layouts. Upload it anyway — layout detection is automatic, and if something does not map cleanly, the contact form reaches a real person.
If it is Excel or CSV, yes. App exports typically work the same as bob World Internet's. PDF exports are not supported in Lite.
